Hello girlie pops, besties, friends and family. Today is May 1st, and I have just finished my month of smut, also known as SMUNTH. If somehow you have not run into me in the last month and you have not heard about what smunth is, well let me enlighten you. Your favorite dyslexic turned ferocious reader has been a reading machine this year and has currently read 28 books thus far. And while I finally got my ass in gear and read ACOTAR, deep in the throes of war terrible war, I said to myself “I really just want a palate cleanser of some dirty, dirty smut”. My brain wanted to turn off and get turned on. SO… I said when I finish this series at the end of the month, I will only read the easy, simple, quick romance novels that were on my TBR for the next month. And thus SMUNTH was born!
But you may be saying “Liv, who cares? You are always reading romance”. Well listen here, I thought the same thing. So I evolved my original idea to broaden what smunth could really mean for me. I made rules and goals. I was going to go beyond my love for the regency era, from meet-cutes, and happily ever afters. I was going to go for something new, exciting, and most importantly, sexy!
The first step on this road was to think about everything I wanted to get done. First, I was done with being an ignorant novice on BookTok. I would know what all the other bitches did! So I wrote down some of the most popular titles. Enter Icebreaker, Love Hypothesis, and Twisted Love. Then I needed to read the books that my best friends suggested: enter my sports’ related smut era. And finally, I had to go to the motherland, my place of worship, my safe place, The Ripped Bodice (a romance book store) to ask my most trusted advisors (the queens who work the front desk) for their recs. And that is how I found myself with the toe-curling erotica that left me speechless.
SMUNTH was more than I could have ever hoped for. I had the time of my life! I was sent on a journey that made me laugh ‘till I was crying or peeing, cried more than I ever thought sexy books could make me, and learned so so so soooo much - like wow! OMG, did you know?….. Actually, that might be too graphic. Ask me later. In private. But nothing was more fun than talking about all that I read with my friends everyday and I want to share the joy. If after reading this you are thinking that this would be fun, then say fuck it to classic literature this May and do SMUNTH! Or, if you are hungry for a horny summer, I will introduce SMUMMER!

The Game On series was such a surprise to me. I have never been a sports romance girlie but these books were so much fun and made me a total convert. The first three books follow three best friends as they each find their respective loves. These books master the plot to smut ratio with a great story that always keeps me guessing and plenty of smut! These ones will enter you in to a “equal opportunity smut era”. Smut from the boy POV is unmatched.

The one where TikTok lost me.
This book tried to have a plot and smut. And I guess it did but the plot kept falling short for me. This book series is supposed to be “twisted” - a bit fucked up for lack of a better word. But the story kept letting me down so I could not fully accept the absurdity of it. I will say everyone says the first one is the worst and I am intrigued by the premise so I will eventually read twisted games.

A win for Tik Tok
I wanted to hate it but I can honestly say it was one of the funniest books I have ever read. I don't know, if everyone will find it as funny as me, but I know you will enjoy these two. I mean, it's an Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley fanfic. Instead of being Jedi, they are geeks at Stanford. Grumpy x sunshine. Fake dating. Nerdy fun. This was such a fun place to be. So I gave it one chili because compared to the other books it is tame. The smut is smuting when it smuts but that happens in such a small part of the book that it can't compete with the other books in this list. But when you get to chapter 17, buckle up the geeks, get freaky.

This was a steamy second chance romance about a florist and wedding planner. This book has one of my favorite story-telling techniques. Split time scale so, the past is all in his POV and the current moment is in her POV. I loved it. It was fun, light hearted, and a great plot. He made playing with flowers all day long sexy!

This had all the charm and character of the Love Hypothesis. I would say I enjoyed the Love Hypothesis a bit more. But Levi is one of my favorite book boyfriends. This one also had more smut than the Love Hypothesis. Again fun, easy, light

Okay, this was my rogue, let's-try-something-crazy pick. This erotica book follows the owner of a kink club in DC. Paying dues at this kink club comes in the form of sharing info (secrets of national security, insider trading, and dark deeds) making Mark, the owner of the club, crazy powerful. When Tristen, his new bodyguard, starts a growing infatuation, what will happen next? Well as you may guess a lot of kinky sexy things. BUT wait, the plot thickens. Because Mark has a fiance and Tristen is forced to spend a lot of alone time with her on a yacht. Looks like Tristan has his hands full. What happens when all three are together??? I don't know yet, the next one will come out June 18 and I am counting down the days. I am fully sucked in.
This book is not for the faint at heart. Let me warn you now. This book is not about love.

OMG this book has my whole heart! These two hockey players are freaks in the sheets with hearts of gold. This book is about two hockey players who have been rivals for 8 years. They are actually the NHL’s most beloved rivals. But what the world doesn't know is that behind closed doors these two rivals can't get enough of each other. I can honestly say, I love these boys with my whole heart. This might be my favorite smunth couple. 10/10 would recommend. Read 220 pages in one day!

So they decided that this time they can't risk losing her and they agreed to share her. Now all they have to do is just convince her it is a good idea. And what if they do that and then they all realize they want more. God, well, if you have ever wondered then you should read this book. Talk about girl worship. Yeah this one will probably have you clutching your pearls more than once. Shock and Awe!

Gosh, Tik Tok won again. I ate this up. The plot was fun and very engaging. I loved the cast of characters. The twists and turns of the story were fun and unexpected. It had much of what we love about romance novels. But so much smut I could almost call it erotica. Gosh, they put to use her flexibility! This was such a fun read.
